Meet the Cast!
The Eldorado is delighted to announce that everyone’s favorite host from “Cirque Le Noir,” Darren “Dizzy” Partridge will return for “Cirque Paris.” Dizzy, originally from Coventry, England excelled from an early age in theatre studies, martial arts and break dancing. At 18 years old, he beat 4,000 people to win a position as a famous Butlin’s Red Coat entertainer, where first saw a live circus performance and which changed his career choice from being a police officer to running away with the circus. Never working a day in his life, Dizzy has enjoyed his life adventure which includes playing Sir Francis Drake in “Pirates Adventure Stunt Show” in Mallorca, Spain, playing “Lazy Town’s” Robotacus in London’s west End, Dizzy the Elf in “Hollywood’s Kodak Theatre Christmas Spectacular” at the home of the Oscars, and lead physical comedian at Sydney Opera House in “Le Grand Cirque,” breaking box-office records twice. How now operates a Circus Talen Agency and also regularly performs around the world in casinos and on luxury cruise ships with his own shows: “Magic & Mayhem,” “Speechless” and “The Man From Mars.” Most recently, Dizzy was the master of ceremonies in “Cirque Le Noir” and appeared as The Trickster in “The Illusionists Cancun.” As the host of “Cirque Paris,” Dizzy will leave you in hysterics as heaves and guides you through the unimaginable to the unbelievable as the ultimate master of ceremonies.
A first to Reno, Clio Tongi will perform a mesmerizing Water Bowl act which is a mixture of acrobatics and choreographed dance where Tongi will leap gracefully in, around and out of the water, demonstrating gymnastic feats of strength, hand balance and contortion.
Originally from Italy and born into the eighth generation of a circus dynasty, Tongi’s tantalizing water bowl act captivates audiences with a fusion of acrobatics, strength, hand balance and dance. After graduating from circus school in Verona, specializing in handstands, Tongi began modeling in Milan for brands such as Armani, Mac, Lio Jo and Roberto Cavalli, but the water called to her like a mermaid to her lagoon. Known as one of the tallest hand balancers in the world, Tongi will leave you gasping for air as she demonstrates her prowess and power both above and below the water.
Duo Skaters Leo Dias and Evangelia Alves will dazzle in a performance with power, preparation, precision and perfected coordination as they combine as one to spin dangerously in unison on a small flat surface.
Hailing from a multi-generational family of circus artists, Dias has perfected the free-standing ladder act in different circus and variety performances around the world, but his life took an astonishing turn when he decided to create an acrobatic skating duo act. With brute strength and utter trust in one another, Dias’s well-regarded talent, creativity and excellence has catapulted his life’s ambition to unimaginable heights.
At the age of 12, Alves stepped into the shoes of her ancestors and began her life’s ambitions of circus artistry by joining her uncle in their family circus. Over the next 16 years of her life, Alves has been featured in some of the most well-regarded circuses and has performed with the world’s best athletes and artists.
Defying gravity, The Owl and the Pussycat will perform duo trapeze around a stationary trapeze bar, flipping, hanging and displaying stunning aerial acrobatics. The Owl and the Pussycat, Paul and Adrienne, met in 2012, but it wasn’t until 2015 that they had the opportunity to create a trapeze duet inspired by the story of their relationship. The duo blends emotionality, theatricality and technical precision to present a completely original act. Together they have toured Australia and have performed their act in Europe at PALAZZO “Spiegelpalästes.” In 2017 they were awarded the Silver Elephant at the Nikulin Circus Festival in Moscow.
The Rossi Brothers, Alejandro and Ricardo, perform the most astounding mid-air somersaulting which exploits every witness, using extreme skill of the hands and feet, in an act known as the Icarian Games. Dating back to the 20th century, foot juggling demonstrates thrilling feats that defy the law of physics. Absolute daring and split-second timing are a feature of this awe-inspiring act, replete with sensational acrobatics where nothing seems difficult and there is no impossible.
Although the Rossi Family originally began performing in Italy, Alejandro and Ricardo are natives of Spain, born into a sixth generation circus family. They attended the renowned Circus Academy in Verona, where they honed their act prior to beginning their professional career at Germany’s “Circus Roncalli.”
Aerial Sphere is a unique dance and gymnastics act that’s set above the stage and highlights flexibility, power and grace. Aleksandra Kiedrowicz, the 2015 winner of “Got Talent Poland,” is one of the most sought after aerial performers in the world, specializing in aerial sphere. Soloing on four continents and in 21 different countries, Kiedrowicz combines elegance and emotion whilst moving audiences into the ether. High above the stage, this breathtaking performance gives guests a 360-degree glimpse of the unimaginable and unbelievable.
Combining strength, flexibility, endurance, dance and gymnastics, aerial pole artists like Artem Lyubanevych lift and contort themselves on a sometimes stationary, sometimes moving, vertical apparatus that will sit anywhere between the ground and 20 feet in the air. Lyubanevych’s prowess on the flying swing pole is the stuff of legends. At age ten, he became the Champion of the Ukraine for the first of many times, and within eight years, became a member of the National Team. Since then, his many accolades include a Bronze Medal at the European Championship in Greece in 2006 and a Bronze Medal at the World Universiade in Thailand in 2007, as well as multiple championships and prize winners in other international tournaments across Europe.
Speed juggler Francois Borie is fast, furious and dexterously skilled in this ancient art as he turns a variety of props into a toss-and-catch waterfall exhibiting flawless control and startling accuracy of judgment. He defies the notion that “the hand is quicker than the eye” as his coordination of both gives animation to inanimate objects.
Borie is recognized around the world as one of the fastest jugglers performing today. A former student at the renowned Academie Fratellini Circus School in Paris, Borie comes to “Cirque Paris” after mastering his craft in circus and on stages around the world. The recipient of multiple awards at international circus festivals, Borie has performed worldwide and has been a featured performer on Europe’s most renowned circuses including “Circus Bouglione” and “Circus Gruss” in France and “Circus Roncalli” in Germany. He has also traveled worldwide with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and has been featured in numerous prestigious productions including “Cirque Du Soleil” and “Circus 1903.”
THE WORKS ENTERTAINMENT, established and led by Creative Producer Simon Painter and Executive Producer Tim Lawson, is one of the most successful live entertainment companies in the world, creating, presenting and producing first class entertainment throughout over 300 cities and 30 countries.
