Resident House Manager

Life Changes, Inc. operates nine gender specific Social Model residential homes. The Social Model emphasizes the process of relearning responses to challenges, stresses and anxieties through doing and experiencing things in a new way by watching positive role models. The Social Model has proven to be effective at building strong, positive social coping behaviors and social support systems.  It is the role of the Resident House Manager to model appropriate behavior in all aspects of his life.

 

The Resident House Manager is responsible for the supervision of clients in a family style home setting. The Resident House Manager will live onsite and may hold gainful employment outside of the residence (day shift only). Duties of the Resident House Manager include basic administration, and oversight of daily living activities and facility operation. This includes managing and coordinating daily housekeeping tasks, conducting inspections, daily review of Sign In/Out sheet, conducting facility inspections and supporting residence in achieving their personal goals. This position is responsible for all program entry and exiting procedures. The Resident House Manager works as part of a team and receives regular non-clinical supervision.

 

Candidates for this position must be able to maintain organized records, communicate effectively both orally and in writing and be able to interact appropriately and professionally with residents, staff, volunteers and community members. Experience in Sober Living Homes, Housing First Model, Homelessness, and Prisoner Reentry a plus, but not required. For the Housing First model, a couple is preferred and 24 hour coverage required. 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Must have a minimum of two years of sustained recovery from a substance use disorder

  • Willingness to obtain additional education including Nevada Peer Recovery Support Specialists training, Basic First Aid, CPR, drug testing procedures, HIPPA and others as may be needed

  • Must be able to live in a shared living situation with other men, although the Resident House Manager will have a private room.

  • Maintain a visible presence in the residence, specifically being present in the residence overnight.  Actual time the Resident House Manager must be onsite varies from house to house

  • Must have minor house maintenance/repair skills

  • Basic computer and keyboarding skills

  • Knowledge of community resources or willingness to learn
